This course unit introduces students to the linguistic analysis of modern English, covering the core areas of phonetics, phonology, inflectional morphology, and word formation. Students will develop familiarity with key analytical concepts and descriptive terminology to examine the sound system and morphological structure of English, and acquire the theoretical grounding necessary for more advanced study in English linguistics.
